The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FHS typically requests natinal watch companies to keep an inventory of spare parts for at least 15 years. But how many parts should a company keep?

Watchmaker François-Paul Journe once commented to WatchAround that a brand can expect 10% of its volumes sold to be back in the workshop for repairs, either due to customer negligence or warranty issues. So a good rule ot thumb is to have between 5 and 10% of spare parts available for repairs or servicing.
